SecurityMatters will collaborate with the National Institute of Standards and Technology‘s National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence to develop guidance for manufacturers to secure industrial control systems against cyber threats.
NCCoE plans to include SecurityMatters’ SilentDefense anomaly detection technology along with other cyber tools in the “Capabilities Assessment for Securing Manufacturing Industrial Control Systems” guide to demonstrate ICS security methods, the company said Monday.
“We are excited and honored to have the opportunity to work on a program that will define best practices for securing manufacturing environments in the United States,” said Dennis Murphy, lead ICS security engineer at SecurityMatters.
“Our mission has always been to advance cyber resilience in the critical infrastructure and manufacturing industries,” Murphy added.
The center aims to offer information on how industry can implement ICS anomaly detection and prevention strategies through the practice guide.
SecurityMatters added that NCCoE plans to incorporate results of the project into NIST’s Cybersecurity Framework that will outline standards-based security controls for the manufacturing industry.
