Rockwell Collins has secured a two-year contract to provide and install dome and desktop trainer simulation systems for joint terminal attack controllers and joint forward observer communities of Australia’s army and air force.
The company said Tuesday it will supply eight custom domes and 11 desktop trainers in an effort to help Australian defense force perform JTAC and JFO missions that align with ADF processes.
JTAC/JFO simulators are built using in-house built technologies and systems from Australian companies such as Virtual Simulation Systems and Titan IM.
Rockwell Collins will help ADF install the integrated training platform at seven locations over the next 24 months.
Jim Walker, vice president and managing director for the Asia Pacific region at Rockwell Collins, said the JTAC/JFO simulation technology can offer a train-as-you-fight and fight-as-you-train experience for users when used in conjunction with the FireStorm targeting system.
