Red Hat has introduced an updated version of its enterprise-grade Kubernetes container application platform.
The company said Thursday its OpenShift Container Platform 3.7. works to help information technology organizations develop and manage applications that use services from data centers and public clouds.
Matt Yanchyshyn, director of partner solution architecture at Amazon Web Services, said AWS partnered with Red Hat to enable OpenShift users to configure and deploy certain AWS services from within the container platform.
OpenShift is also designed to provide a single platform where developers can create, launch and manage apps across hybrid cloud infrastructures.
The updated version features the OpenShift Service Catalog that works to connect apps running on OpenShift to a range of services, regardless of where the services operate.
The latest OpenShift platform also includes the OpenShift Template Broker that makes any OpenShift Template discoverable for app developers and the OpenShift Ansible Broker that helps users provision services on and off OpenShift.
The 3.7. update also brings additional features meant to boost platform security.
