Boeing‘s Insitu subsidiary has offered its aerial remote sensing services professionals along with a suite of tools to aid disaster recovery and fire suppression missions in California, Oregon and Texas.
Insitu said Tuesday the INEXA Solutions suite, which covered the ScanEagle unmanned aerial vehicle as well as manned aircraft equipped with scanning payloads and sensors, assisted disaster recovery missions in Houston in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.
Mark Bauman, vice president and general manager at Insitu Commercial, said the company offered aerial remote sensing and data analytics expertise for first responders and incident commanders from August through October.
The company deployed personnel and ScanEagle UAS platforms around Houston to aid infrastructure assessments, emergency response, search and rescue, security and monitoring as well as unmanned and manned aviation overwatch protection activities.
ScanEagle systems were also used to perform beyond visual line of sight missions within the area to help determine navigation hazards.
