L3 Technologies has secured a contract to provide satellite communications terminals and on-site training services to the Joint Incident Site Communications Capability teams of the U.S. Air National Guard.
The company said Monday it is scheduled to deliver 46 Hawkeye III Lite very small aperture terminals to JISCC groups in the fourth quarter of 2017.
Hawkeye VSATs are certified by the Army Strategic Command and designed to operate with the U.S. military’s Wideband Global SATCOM network.
L3 noted that JISCC will use the satcom terminals to manage direct communications during response missions across the U.S. and its territories.
Christopher Kubasik, L3 president and chief operating officer, said the company has provided more than 12,000 VSATs to facilitate satellite connectivity for military customers to date.
JISCC provides data to Air National Guard communications units with the use of standard and modular communications technology.
