Lockheed Martin‘s rotary and mission systems business will provide engineering manufacturing and development services for the U.S. Navy‘s advanced off-board electronic warfare program under a $23.6 million contract modification.
The Defense Department said Monday the company will help the service branch develop an electronic warfare mission package for integration with a flight vehicle under the AOEW program.
The program also seeks to update EW surveillance and countermeasure capacities of MH-60 helicopters against potential anti-ship missile threats, DoD added.
Lockheed’s AN/ALQ-248 AOEW pod is designed to integrate with MH-60R and MH-60S platforms and detect ASMs.
The Navy will obligate $1.5 million in fiscal 2017 Navy research, development, test funds at the time of modification award.
Work will occur in New York, Connecticut and Florida through November 2018.
