Elbit Systems has announced plans to reorganize its Cyberbit subsidiary as part of a push to help address a growing demand for cybersecurity products and services in both the defense and commercial sectors.
Cyberbit’s defense cyber intelligence and cybersecurity business will operate under Elbit Systems’ land and C4I division effective Jan. 1 and the subsidiary will focus efforts on commercial offerings, the company said Monday.
Bezhalel Machlis, Elbit Systems president and CEO, said the company aims to expand its defense and commercial businesses through the reorganization effort.
The company noted a demand for cybersecurity and cyber intelligence in the defense sector is primarily driven by a shift in battlefield requirements from command, control, communications, computers and intelligence, or C4I — to C5I, which includes cyberspace.
