Contrack Watts Inc. has received a $17.9 million contract from the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific to build a waterfront headquarters building at the U.S. Navy base in Guam.
The Japanese government will fund the construction project as part of a bilateral agreement between the U.S. and Japan, the Navy said Tuesday.
Contrack Watts will construct the facility at Naval Base Guam on Apra Harbor using concrete materials and electrical and mechanical systems designed to comply with Guam’s weather and earthquake standards.
Work will also include furniture, fixtures and equipment modifications.
The Navy received two bids for the firm-fixed price contract and expects the company to complete the project by April 2019.
