A team composed of Battelle, Huntington Ingalls Industries, Northrop Grumman and Riptide will collaborate with the Naval Surface Warfare Center to demonstrate multi-platform technologies during a U.S. Navy-hosted exercise.
The team will showcase autonomy, communications and mission awareness platforms designed to aid battlespace missions in a contested environment on Tuesday and Wednesday as part of the Advanced Naval Technology Exercise, Battelle said Monday.
Battelle will also display an underwater vehicle platform the nonprofit company developed with HII’s technical solutions division.
The 8,000-pound Proteus autonomous platform is designed to support both manned or unmanned operations.
“This is a great opportunity to join our industry and government partners to test the type of technologies that will be needed to face emerging threats,” said Fred Byus, vice president and general manager at Battelle’s mission and defense technologies unit.
