Leonardo has won a contract from NATO to build and deliver a logistics data platform under the Alliance Ground Surveillance program.
The company will develop the AGS Logistics Information System through a contract signed with the NATOÂ Alliance Ground Surveillance Management Agency, Leonardo said Wednesday.
ALIS is designed to help NATO oversee maintenance activities and operations at the main operating base in Sigonella, Italy, as well as facilitate management of the supply chain, field service activities, warehousing, staff employment and accounting operations.
Leonardo will also develop Transportable General Ground Stations and Mission Operation Support systems under the alliance’s AGS program that aims to support NATO’s crisis management operations through the use of ground systems and remotely piloted aircraft.
TGGS and MOS work to collect images and data from unmanned aerial vehicles for use in intelligence analysis.
The company will also supply the Wide Band Data Link system that works to provide line-of-sight communications between drones and ground platforms.
