Lockheed Martin has received a one-year, $61.3 million contract modification to help the U.S. Navy operate and maintain development and test facilities for the Aegis combat system.
The Defense Department said Monday the modification covers technical engineering, configuration management, associated equipment, quality assurance and information assurance services for the Combat Systems Engineering Development Site, SPY-1A Test Facility and the Naval Systems Computing Center.
Lockheed’s rotary and mission systems business will perform at a company facility in in Moorestown, New Jersey through June 2018.
The Navy obligated $16.1 million in fiscal 2013 and fiscal 2015 shipbuilding and conversion; fiscal 2017 research, development, test, and evaluation; and foreign military sales funds at the time of award.
Aegis is designed to engage land targets, submarines and surface ships as well as protect ships against aircraft and cruise and ballistic missile threats.
