BAE Systems has received a grant from Australia’s defense department to develop and demonstrate a radio frequency sensor technology for maritime battlespace awareness efforts, Shepard Media reported Thursday.
The report said the department issued the grant for the 18-month Maritime Composite RF Sensor Performance project through its Capability and Technology Demonstrator Program.
Glynn Phillips, chief executive of BAE’s Australian subsidiary, said the company currently develops radar technology designed to boost the performance of radar sensors aboard ships.
