Carahsoft Technology has received a contract from the New Jersey School Boards Association for various VMware products to help provide local school districts and charter schools access to virtualization technology.
Carahsoft said Monday its VMware software, hardware, cloud and professional services portfolio will work to support efforts to establish or continue digital learning programs as part of NJSBA’s Technology for Education and Career project.
Lawrence Feinsod, NJSBA executive director, said Carahsoft and its resellers will support the organization’s efforts to utilize cloud technologies for educational purposes.
“We are already actively engaged with more than 20 New Jersey schools and boards of education, and appreciate the opportunity to work with NJSBA to communicate and educate its entire membership about the benefits of virtualization and cloud technologies,” added Will Jones, senior vice president of VMware solutions at Carahsoft.
The company said it will deliver fulfillment services, inform NJSBA members regarding the services and aid the organization in collaborating with academic institutions and school board associations across the U.S. through the contract’s cooperative purchasing provisions.
NJSBA members will also receive assistance and training from VMware service partners and have access to VMware technologies at a pre-negotiated discounted rate, Carahsoft added.
