The Department of the Navy has solicited offers from vendors to supply the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command with crypto I&Y cable assemblies designed to support the service branch’s command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance functions.
The Navy said Wednesday it plans to award a potential 10-year, firm-fixed price contract to the winning contractor.
The military branch uses the cable assembly parts to link the Integrated Housing Group crypto shelves to the Advanced Narrowband Digital Voice Terminal in an effort to ensure the security of C4ISR and cyberspace operations.
Interested contractors should have experience in the production of multi-conductor cable assemblies within 140 days in order to bid on the contract, the service branch said.
The contract covers annual production of 50 I and 50 Y cables with an optional contract line item numbers for additional cable assembly units to be used in new construction platforms and sustainment of faulty parts onboard the Navy and Coast Guard ships.
