The U.S. Navy has begun a market survey in search of potential vendors that can help the service branch to research and develop new technology that will work to advance defense systems-related scientific and technical data.
A sources source notice posted Wednesday on FedBizOpps stated the Naval Surface Warfare Center-Panama City division looks to conduct weapons systems R&D as part of the Navy’s Rapid Innovative Operational Testing initiative.
The RIOT program will seek integration, software development, command and control, technology assessment and evaluation, systems engineering, test and evaluation planning and execution support services through a planned indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity supply type contract, according to the notice.
The notice added the proposed single-award contract will have a one-year based period of performance and up to four option years.
The Navy expects domestically owned companies that hold top secret/sensitive compartmented information clearances to pursue the program.
Interested parties can submit their input to the service branch through Oct. 7.
