NASA has released a broad agency announcement on an umbrella for partnerships to support the Asteroid Redirect Mission and work to boost technologies, capacities and spaceflight experience for continued human exploration.
A presolicitation notice posted Thursday says the space agency wants subsequent awards from the BAA to foster partnerships between U.S. and international partners for commercial, scientific, exploration technology and planetary defense ARM applications.
NASA’s Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate, Space Technology Mission Directorate and Science Mission Directorate manages the ARM program composed of the Asteroid Redirect Robotic Mission and Asteroid Redirect Crewed Mission segments.
ARRM is scheduled for launch in 2021 while the ARCM will lift off aboard a Space Launch System vehicle in 2026 and conduct operations with an an Orion capsule.
The umbrella for partnerships will remain open until August 2018Â with additional opportunities announced as appendices.
