ICL‘s advanced additives business unit has landed a $6.2 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to provide 418,000 gallons of the company’s firefighting foam for firefighting vehicles and fire station foam stocks.
The company said Wednesday it has started delivery of its Phos-Chek firefighting foam in August and will continue over a 10-week period.
ICL added the Air Force seeks to replace its legacy Aqueous Film Forming Foam stocks with Phos-Chek in a push to minimize the firefighting foam’s impact on the environment.
Phos-Chek has undergone multiple fire tests to meet the U.S. military’s Mil-F-24385 fire test standard, the company noted.
