The Australian subsidiaries of BAE Systems and Raytheon have partnered to bid for a $765 million contract to update a radar network that supports aerial and maritime surveillance efforts of the Australian military.
Daronmont Technologies and RCR Resolve FM also joined the BAE-led team that will pursue Australia’s Jindalee Operational Radar Network modernization program, BAE said Sunday.
Raytheon will provide systems integration expertise under the teaming agreement.
Daronmont will develop niche systems integration, software and engineering support as well as sounders, transponders and niche software products for JORN sites while RCR Resolve FM will contribute remote site facilities management services to the partnership.
BAE also plans to collaborate with more than 20 small and medium businesses if the company wins the JORN contract.
The U.K.-based defense contractor built the long-range high frequency radar technology currently used in JORN.
JORN is designed to provide situational awareness for the air and maritime operations of Australia’s defense force as well as deliver wide-area surveillance and information for border protection, disaster relief and search and rescue operations.
