Artis has received the Defense Department‘s approval to test and evaluate Israel-based Rada Electronic Industries‘ radars with an Artis-built active protection system, Defense News reported Tuesday.
Barbara Opall-Rome writes Rada said it would provide its Compact Hemispheric Radar-based RPS-10 system to aid Artis’ Iron Curtain APS in operations against rocket-propelled grenades and shoulder-launched threats.
“We have received approval from the U.S. government to import two Rada radar units for purposes of testing and evaluating them with our Iron Curtain active protection system,” Brian Detter of Artis told Defense News.
Artis plans to integrate and test Rada’s radar systems with Iron Curtain during the first quarter of 2017, Opall-Rome reports.
The report said the radar system previously completed integration with IMI Systems‘ Iron Fist APS.
