electronic health record EHRThe Sequoia Project has certified the use of CGI‘s CONNECT Gateway open source platform on the eHealth Exchange network for health information sharing.

CGI said Monday the gateway works to support the dissemination of health information to more than 2,000 organizations such as federal agencies and health-related organizations.

The company added it partnered with the U.S. Federal Health Architecture to deliver program management, development, end user support and training as well as community management and support through CONNECT.

George Strader, a vice president at CGI, said the certification serves to verify that CONNECT works to fulfill required specifications and supports interoperability.

“We look forward to continuing to partner with FHA to support national health IT standards and interoperability across the federal health enterprise,” he said.

The Sequoia Project manages the eHealth Exchange, which works to link more than 100 million patients through hospitals, non-federal organizations and federal agencies such as the Defense Department, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and Department of Veterans Affairs.
