A joint venture of Parsons and construction firm Odebrecht have been selected to replace baggage-handling systems at Miami International Airport under a contract with a construction budget of $177 million.
Parsons-Odebrecht will install outbound baggage conveyance systems, electrical modifications and power distribution systems, mechanical modifications and a post-security corridor to connect Terminals G and H under the contract with Miami-Dade County, Parsons said Thursday.
The Transportation Security Administration also awarded a $101 million grant to Miami-Dade County in support of the project.
Parsons estimates local small business and disadvantaged business enterprise to account for more than $25 million of the project costs.
