The Naval Facilities Engineering Command-Southwest has awarded Granite Construction a $22 million contract to build an infantry training facility for the U.S. Marine Corps.
Granite said Thursday it will construct a firing range, an access road, lighting, targeting systems, underground utilities, supporting buildings and asphalt pavements at Camp Pendleton in California under the contract.
The two-year construction project, scheduled to begin in the current quarter, seeks to increase the safety and efficiency of Marines and joint services personnel training exercises.
Granite booked the contract during the company’s fiscal 2016 second quarter.
