Humvee1Reston, Virginia-based information technology services provider iGov has received a potential five-year, $52.5 million delivery order from the U.S. Air Force to provide tactical air control party users with a mobile communications system through modifications to an armored vehicle.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center issued the delivery order under a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, iGov said Monday.

The firm will work to modify and equip M1145 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles with systems designed to transmit data, voice and video communications in an effort to help TACP users control aircraft during close air support missions.

Chuck Reiche, vice president of business development at iGov, said the company will use intercom and radio products from Harris’ communication systems business to meet the service branch’s requirements.

The company will perform work at its facility in Tampa, Florida, through Jan. 28, 2021.
