Optex Systems has received a five-year, $5.99 million contract from the Defense Logistics Agency to deliver laser-protected periscopes across the U.S. military.
The optical sighting systems manufacturer said Friday its glass and plastic periscopes work to support a range of vehicle platforms.
Optex CEO Danny Schoening said the award builds on the company’s efforts to grow its footprint in the armored vehicle support market.
Richardson, Texas-based Optex added its market share for periscopes and vision block products has reached an estimated 75 percent in the U.S. and between 20 and 30 percent worldwide.
