Concurrent Technologies CorpA center that Concurrent Technologies Corp. operates for the Defense Department has completed at least 1,000 visits to DoD agencies and installations as part of the department’s safety management efforts.

CTC’s Safety Management Center of Excellence personnel conduct visits to various DoD agencies and military bases in order to identify and recognize those that comply with the safety standards set by the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, CTC said Thursday.

SMCX said 93 DoD offices have already reached the Star safety status as of June 30 and it expects the sites to generate $16.7 million in annual savings.

CTC collaborates with Enterprise Ventures Corp. to help the office of the defense undersecretary for personnel and readiness prevent workplace injuries and other incidents at DoD sites.

CTC has been running SMCX, formerly Voluntary Protection Programs Center of Excellence, since 2006.
