Comtech Telecommunications‘ commercial solutions business unit has secured a potential five-year, $45 million contract to provide IP-based next-generation 9-1-1 technology to support emergency communications across Washington state.
The company said Wednesday will install and manage a statewide enterprise system designed to comply with the National Emergency Number Association’s NG911 geospatial call routing and reporting standards.
Comtech President and CEO Stanton Sloane said the system will work to help Washington public safety organizations process wireline, wireless and voice over IP calls and texts as well as facilitate the state’s transition to 9-1-1 call origination formats.
The company designed its emergency call delivery platform to support continuous operations of in-state and out-of-state data centers through geo-redundancy.
