AccentureLogo1 EbizAccenture has launched a prototype technology designed to identify and address pay gaps in support of gender pay parity in the freelance labor market.

The company said Tuesday Accenture Labs developed the prototype to help provide transparency in the hiring process using open source technologies in order to facilitate equal pay negotiations and reduce bias.

The prototype builds on Accenture’s signing of the White House Equal Pay Pledge and works to address issues on gender-biased job posting, inconsistent candidate vetting, opaque hiring process and a lack of comparable pay data to guide negotiations.

“As the liquid workforce continues to emerge and more workers look for ‘gig’ experiences, organizations must continue to innovate to find new ways to attract and retain the best talent — and technology can help them take important next steps toward gender pay equality,” said Julie Sweet, Accenture group chief executive for North America.

Accenture demonstrated the prototype at the White House’s #hackthepaygap event.

The company said it will use the technology to supplement its internal online talent sourcing platform.
