The Department of Veterans Affairs is requesting information on commercial software that could be used to search exploited agency data on a dark Web site.
In a FedBizOpps notice published Thursday, the VA said it is interested in technology that will employ an encrypted data hash or a pattern matching tool to scan the dark Web for VA-sourced data and report back findings to the department.
The VA wants software that can integrate with the department’s current network and applications as well as comply with its information technology security policies.
The technology should work to also secure personally identifiable or protected health information against a breach, the notice states.
Interested vendors can submit their input to the department through May 26.
