L-3 CommL-3 Communications subsidiary L-3 KEO has received a $9.3 million delivery order from the U.S. Navy to provide MK 46 and MK 20 electro-optical sensor system depot spares.

The Defense Department said Wednesday L-3 KEO will deliver the spares for the Navy as well as the government of South Korea under the foreign military sales program.

L-3 acquired Danaher Corp.‘s Kollmorgen Electro-Optical electronic and optical systems equipment business through a $210 million deal in 2012.

The electro-optical sensor systems work to support MK 34 and MK 48 gun weapon systems used by multiple ship classes such as the DDG 51 class, CG 47 class, Coast Guard WMSL class and those of various allied nations, DoD noted.

The spares will be designed to perform safety check-sighting, look-point-shoot and range as well as identify counter-battery targets and short-range surface targets to support anti-surface warfare, the department added.

Contract work will occur in Massachusetts and Vermont through October 2018.
