General Dynamics has landed a $20.9 million modification from the U.S. Air Force for a previously awarded KIV-78 Identification Friend or Foe system production contract.
The company’s C4 systems business will deliver contract line items for the new IFF configuration and associated spares as well as an estimated 700 additional units annually for foreign military sales, the Defense Department said Wednesday.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center serves as the contracting activity for the agreement and will obligate no funds at the time of award, DoD added.
The contractor will perform work in Arizona through Aug. 31, 2019.
KIV-78 was designed to provide cryptographic and time-of-day services for combined interrogator/transponder, individual interrogator, individual transponder or IFF systems to help distinguish cooperative or friendly systems.
