A team composed of AECOM and Flatiron Construction has been selected by the Colorado Department of Transportation to design and construct the C-470 highway’s express lanes in Denver’s south metro area as part of a $215 million project.
AECOM said Tuesday Colorado DOT held a bidding process for the project on March 30 and selected the team among three groups of contractors following an assessment of the teams’ ability to meet requirements for traffic operations, maintenance costs and project milestones.
The C-470 segment 1 project includes the construction of four tolled express lanes and auxiliary lanes, bridge replacement over the South Platte River, on-ramp and off-ramp updates, bridge widening, and installation of tolling equipment and other transportation systems.
AECOM and Flatiron Construction expect to begin work on the project in the summer of 2016.
The project is scheduled to be finished by early 2019.
