A VMware subsidiary has completed an application for the in-process stage of the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program in an effort to achieve full FedRAMP-compliant status for its enterprise mobility management system.
VMware AirWatch said Thursday it is working with the FedRAMP program office and the U.S. Census Bureau to receive an “Authority to Operate,” which would facilitate the deployment of the cloud-based EMM system at federal agencies.
The company previously received the Defense Information Systems Agency Security Technical Implementation Guide certification for AirWatch MDM Software 6.5, which indicates that the system is fit for use across Defense Department networks.
