Lockheed Martin has been awarded a $7.9 million contract to integrate the joint air-to-surface standoff missile into the Polish air force’s F-16C/D aircraft under a foreign military sales agreement with the U.S. Air Force.
Work under the contract will support certification and flight activities and will complete in 2018, Lockheed said Thursday.
“JASSM’s high reliability and effectiveness allows the missile to defeat current and future threats in challenging environments,†said Bob Adams, long range strike systems international program manager at Lockheed Martin missiles and fire control.
The JASSM precision-guided cruise missile uses an infrared seeker and a global positioning system receiver to counter jamming systems.
