Charles River Analytics Inc. has been awarded a nearly $1 million contract to develop virtual training tools for the U.S. Navy in an effort to help the service meet its training requirements.
The Shiphandling Educator Assistant for Managing Assessments in Training Environments tool works to assist instructors in monitoring and engaging with more students, Charles River Analytics said Monday.
“In SEAMATE, we’re developing supervisory displays that help shiphandling instructors work with more students at once,†said Ryan Kilgore, vice president of Charles River’s human effectiveness division.
“We’re evaluating how instructors dynamically shift their attention and engagement across students and decide when and how to provide specific coaching and feedback,†added Kilgore.
A trainer will use SEAMATE’s mobile technology dashboard to monitor multiple student’s performance.
Charles River also develops the MAGPIE tool for personalized training and the TMT tool to help warfighters treat injuries while in the combat field.
