The Defense Information Systems Agency has asked industry to recommend open standard-based approaches for the development of a command-and-control system that can support the U.S. military’s joint or multinational combat missions.
DISA said in a request for information dated Nov. 25 it seeks private-sector expertise to build geospatial data processing and visualization tools, as well as to explore multidomain data management techniques under the Global Command and Control System-Joint initiative.
The GCCS-J infrastructure will consist of web applications for commander-in-chief, defense secretary and combatant leaders to gain insight into battlespace environments, DISA noted.
The program also seeks enterprise-grade big data and cloud computing technologies intended to help DISA consume, analyze, merge and distribute C2 data from multiple platforms.
Interested vendors can submit their ideas to the agency via email through Jan. 18.
