Carahsoft has observed that businesses certified under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program are able to compete on a “level playing field” to offer cloud-based information technology products and services to government agencies.
The company said in a blog article published Friday it estimates the number of FedRAMP-compliant providers grew about 41 percent from December 2014 to June 2015.
FedRAMP works to help agencies compare multiple IT offerings as they look for the best platform to support their cloud migration and security compliance efforts, Carahsoft added.
According to the company, the program could also help the government save as much as $70 million a year.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise, a Carahsoft partner, has launched a blog series, titled “How to Take Advantage of Cloud,” in an effort to help providers and their public-sector customers understand the value of programs like FedRAMP.
HP’s Fortify on Demand cloud application security tool is certified under the program.
