Northrop Grumman has agreed to renew its lease on an unmanned aerial vehicle plant at Moss Point in Jackson County, Mississippi, Sun Herald reported Wednesday.
Karen Nelson writes Northrop Grumman will continue to produce drone parts at the Moss Point Unmanned Systems Center for another eight years under the agreement.
The company manufactures components for the U.S. Navy‘s Fire Scout and Triton, the U.S. Air Force‘s Global Hawk and other unmanned aircraft at the facility, the report said.
The Jackson County Port Authority approved the agreement, Nelson reports.
Production of unmanned aircraft began in 2006 at the center, where approximately 70 employees work in defense-related jobs, The Associated Press reports.
