TeleCommunication Systems has been awarded $5 million in incremental funds to perform sustainment work on transportable very small aperture terminals of the U.S. Army.
TCS said Wednesday it has received $23.6 million as partial funding to help the military branch sustain AN/TSC-198A VSATs under a potential three-year, $91 million contract.
The contract is for the sustainment of Secret Internet Protocol Router and Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Access Point terminals designed to facilitate voice, data and video communications among soldiers.
TCS designed the AN/TSC-198A VSAT system to employ a transportable, rugged and modular design as well as plug-and-play and graphical user interfaces for multimedia content delivery.
