Engility has raised $28,000 to help Building Homes for Heroes construct a new Florida house for Army Specialist Hugo Gonzalez, who sustained injuries from an improvised explosive device blast during a mission in Iraq.
“Specialist Gonzalez is an American hero, and we deeply appreciate and respect his service and his sacrifice on behalf of this great country,” Tony Smeraglinolo, Engility president and CEO, said Monday.
“I“™m proud of the Engility employees who raised funds to support this project,” Smeraglinolo added.
Employees of Engility raised about $15,500 through online fundraising and multiple events held at the company’s facilities in California, Massachusetts, Virginia and Arizona.
The company donated an additional $12,500 to the BBH housing initiative.
