Engility Holdings has received a $35 million contract to perform disaster preparedness and management services for the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Latin America and Caribbean regional offices.
Engility will deploy its personnel to disaster areas in order to assess the damage and guide the local governments on disaster response efforts, Engility said Wednesday.
The contract contains a one-year base period and four option years.
“This award validates [the Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance’s] trust and confidence in Engility to support ongoing efforts to refine and enhance USAID’s emergency response capabilities in the LAC region,” said Tony Smeraglinolo, president and CEO of Engility.
Engility will also work to inform disaster management concepts, training methodologies and technical disciplines.
