The U.S. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and Engility have announced the availability of a Vricon-made application designed to help government users access satellite imagery-derived three-dimensional content.
Engility said Monday that Vricon’s Explorer tool is now available on the agency’s GEOINT app store.
TASC, a subsidiary of Engility, served as a broker between Vricon and NGA through the Innovative GEOINT Application Provider Program, which works to facilitate the development of commercial apps for disaster response, navigation and mapping activities.
“Through our IGAPP team, we are adding applications vendors daily,” said Tony Smeraglinolo, Engility president and CEO.
Explorer is designed to run on Windows devices and visualize globally available 3D structural and terrain data via a web hosting service.
Vricon also seeks to make the app work on Android and iOS devices next year.
