E-Finity Distributed Generation has selected Capstone Turbine to produce microturbine technology for use in the U.S. Marine Corps’ Virginia-based combined heat and power plant.
Capstone will design a C1000 Power Package to feed electricity into the Marine Corps base’s distribution grid, Capstone said Wednesday.
The power plant is scheduled to be commissioned in September 2016.
“We are proud to be providing clean and efficient energy to the Defense Department in response to their operational energy strategy implementation plan,” said Darren Jamison, Capstone’s president and CEO.
Energy will be distributed to the barracks, administration office and dining facilities across the base.
