An Atlas V rocket lifted off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida to carry the Morelos-3 communications satellite into space, William Graham writes.

The Atlas V contains an RL10 engine-powered Centaur upper stage, two Aerojet AJ-60A rocket motors and a common core booster with an RD-180 engine, Graham notes.

USA Today reported Morelos-3 will join the other satellites as part of the Mexsat constellation owned by the Mexico’s communications and transportation ministry.

The constellation works to provide Internet access and other communication capabilities for Mexico’s five national security agencies and public infrastructure located in remote areas, James Dean writes.
