The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is exploring sources of application or software programs that VA can potentially use to verify credentials of employees and contractors who access its facilities.
In a request for information posted Aug. 26 on FedBizOpps, VA said it seeks to identify a new credential management tool for the department’s Personal Identity Verification system modernization program.
VA defines credential management as a platform for managing identity records, smart cards, certificates and subordinate certification authority activities.
The department noted it wants a commercial application designed to comply with Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12 for a common identification standard for federal employees and contractors.
Interested vendors can submit their responses to the RFI until Oct. 15.
