Lockheed Martin has completed a series of field tests on its Infirno sensor system to check its target detection and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance functions.
The company said Tuesday the system consists of high-definition optical sensors that work to provide infrared and color video and support precision targeting operations.
Lockheed added that Infirno’s nine plug-and-play components also work to help make the system configurable with mission requirements.
Paul Lemmo, vice president of fire control at Lockheed’s missiles and fire control business, noted that additional tests are scheduled by early 2016.
The company rolled out Infirno last year as a sensor system for midrange turrets.
