Computer Sciences Corp. has obtained two security certifications for a Hadoop-based managed service offering intended to help organizations manage big data.
CSC said Tuesday it collaborated with Cloudera to meet requirements set forth in the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
Eddie Satterly, chief technology officer at CSC’s emerging business group, said Cloudera’s Navigator and Sentry data security management technologies have helped CSC achieve its compliance goals for the PaaS offering.
The certifications allow the companies to offer the PaaS to organizations that aim to secure credit card payments and medical records.
CompliancePoint provided audit services to CSC and Cloudera during the HIPAA/PCI DSS compliance assessment process.
