A report by BitSight Technologies has indicated challenges in the security performance of the energy and utilities sector while the federal government continues to be a high performer next to only the financial sector.
The company said Tuesday its “BitSight Insights Industry Benchmark” report for 2015 points to a drop in the security rating for energy and utilities with a current average rating of 652.
According to the report, the energy and utilities rating is higher than that of the healthcare industry but lower than the rating for retail.
The top performers are finance and the federal government with respective average ratings of 716 and 688, while the lowest-performing industry is education with an average rating of 554.
BitSight noted that the leaders and laggards in security performance are consistently the same year over year.
