Barbara Humpton has explained her primary goal as the next CEO of Siemens Government Technologies — the German conglomerate’s U.S. federal arm — in an interview with the Washington Business Journal published Thursday.
“My whole job is going to be focused on working across all of Siemens divisions to make sure that we bring their technologies, which are commercially available globally, to the needs of the federal government,†she told reporter James Bach.
Humpton, SGT executive vice president and chief operating officer since 2011, will officially transition into the CEO role at the subsidiary on Oct. 1.
She said Siemens’ energy business Dresser-Rand can help SGT expand its federal market presence, the publication reports.
“What I’d like to do is leverage that service capability to meet the needs of some other customers Dresser-Rand has not yet been in contact with,” she added to Bach.
