Tony Cothron and Lynn Schnurr of General Dynamics believe that the growing number of cybersecurity threats has driven collaboration between industry and the intelligence community, Federal News Radio reported Wednesday.
Meredith Somers writes that Schnurr, vice president for defense intelligence at the company, told the station that the two sectors have collaborated together on areas such as biometrics and geospatial technology to support U.S. cybersecurity efforts.
The report said Cothron, who is VPÂ of business development and customer requirements at General Dynamics’ information technology segment, pointed to the pace of acquisition as a challenge to continued collaboration on cyber.
“It’s not just again about the technology; it’s the understanding of that, the training of the people, the development of new tradecraft as well as bringing on new sources and methods to keep up with that threat,” Cothron said.
He and Schnurr will serve as policy track leaders at the Intelligence and National Security Summit in September, Somers reports.
