Orbital ATKÂ has been awarded a five-year, $25 million contract to engineer and repair the munitions tester and reprogrammer system of the U.S. Air Force and foreign military sales clients.
The company will also perform technical and logistics services for the automated test systems division within the Agile Combat Support Directorate at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia under the contract, Orbital ATK said Thursday.
Bill Kasting, vice president and general manager of Orbital ATK’s defense electronic systems division within the defense systems group, said the company intends for the contract to provide “uninterrupted munitions testing and reprogramming capability for the warfighter.â€
The CMBRE system works to validate munition built-in-test status, change munition operational flight programs and transmit mission and global positioning system data.
